Supported by members and honorary members in the most recent electronic vote, the AIBC’s bylaw amendments regarding associates have successfully passed the provincial government’s “disallowance” period and are now in effect.
The amendments require AIBC Council to establish qualifications for admission and appropriate designations for every associate class. Throughout the bylaw initiative, it was communicated that “qualifications for admission” and “designations” would be created by council rules and, as a reference, draft rules were presented for consideration at the same time as the proposed bylaws.
Following the successful bylaw vote, the requisite notification period for the proposed council rules was triggered and concludes this Friday.
Review the proposed council rules and submit comments using the online feedback form.
Taking all feedback into consideration, council will vote on the rules at a scheduled January 16 council meeting, with the outcome posted at aibc.ca and included in the February edition of eNews.
