In celebration of National Volunteer Week (April 23–29) and on behalf of the AIBC, we would like to take this opportunity to thank the many volunteers who contribute thousands of hours of their time each year to the institute and the important work that we do here. In 2016, volunteers contributed nearly 8,000 hours to the AIBC! The AIBC encourages volunteer participation and provides opportunities for individuals to share their expertise and contribute to the profession. Here is a brief overview of volunteerism at the AIBC.
AIBC Recognition Ceremony & Awards
We believe in recognizing our volunteers at the annual Recognition Ceremony held every fall. In addition to formally acknowledging the contribution of all our volunteers, who have made positive impacts in the profession of architecture, five prestigious awards are presented: AIBC Lifetime Achievement Award, AIBC Special Certificate of Recognition, the Barbara Dalrymple Memorial Award for Community Service, Award for Lifetime Volunteer Achievement, and the CEO Award for Exceptional Volunteer Service.
Nominations are currently being accepted for the 2017 AIBC Recognition Awards. Take this opportunity to recognize committed volunteers for their outstanding contributions to the profession, the community or the institute.

AIBC Volunteer Opportunities
The AIBC is reliant upon the volunteer contributions of its membership as well as the public to assist with various committees, initiatives and events.
We encourage you to explore the current volunteer opportunities posted on the AIBC website. Your support and participation greatly enhances our ability to build public confidence and excellence in architectural practice.
