The AIBC is pleased to report the results of the 2017 Certified Professional (CP) course. The CP course was jointly run by AIBC and APEGBC, and consisted of 12 full-day seminars and two 8-hour exams, which took place on April 26 and May 3, 2017.
The CP course is intended for architects, engineers and others with a strong knowledge of Canadian building codes and experience in the building construction industry wishing to advance their building code knowledge. Architects and engineers who pass the exam and meet the other course criteria can practice as CPs. The successful Intern Architects and Engineers-In-Training will be able to practice as CPs when they become registered.
Out of the 23 candidates who wrote the CP Exam, 13 passed:
- Three Architects AIBC
- One Intern Architect AIBC
- One Architectural Technologist AIBC
- Four Professional Engineers
- Three Engineers-in-Training
- One Building Official
The pass rate was above 50 per cent, which is the highest it has been in several years. Congratulations to all of the successful candidates!
We would also like to give a big thank you to those who contributed to the success of this group, particularly Teresa Coady Architect AIBC, the CP Manager, responsible for course coordination and delivery.
