The City of Vancouver’s Planning, Urban Design and Sustainability Department is launching Places for People Downtown – an initiative that will create a strategy to deliver vibrant public spaces downtown. Starting this summer, the City of Vancouver is looking for feedback to help shape the vision, values and emerging strategic direction for the Downtown Public Space Strategy.
The new strategy will include places and spaces in:
- The Central Business District
- Coal Harbour
- West End
- Downtown South
- Yaletown
- False Creek North
- Northeast False Creek
The AIBC is extending the call for feedback to all registrants who would like to be part of the Places for People Downtown project. Members would be expected to contribute a unique architectural perspective to the conversation as well as present new ideas. The work program for Places for People Downtown will take place for approximately 18 months throughout 2017 and 2018 – participants would need to attend 6–8 meetings. If you are interested in volunteering, please email volunteers@aibc.ca by Thursday, July 13, 2017.
