The City of Vancouver is looking for professionals to join the Rain City Strategy Expert Panel that will provide invaluable input into the City’s Rain City Strategy Implementation Plan. This is an opportunity to have a direct impact on how the City implements sustainable urban rainwater management in Vancouver using green infrastructure. If you have expertise in this field, the City of Vancouver invites you to submit an application by November 5, 2017. The application requirements are described below:

Background

The City of Vancouver is developing a long-term, high-level implementation plan, with an outlook to 2050, to guide the application of sustainable urban rainwater management strategies and green infrastructure practices on both public and private property. The intention of the implementation plan work underway is to develop strategies and actions that help improve Vancouver’s water quality and proactively prepare for climate change impacts, while also supporting neighbourhood livability and biodiversity.

The City is looking for Expert Panel members who are interested in sharing their wealth of knowledge, ideas, and expertise about sustainable urban rainwater management and green infrastructure practices. Expert Panel members will be selected through a public open call and will be chosen to provide advice and insight in the implementation planning process.

Rain City Strategy Vision:

  2. Increase Vancouver’s resilience through sustainable water management
  3. Enhance Vancouver’s livability by improving natural and urban ecosystems

Expectations of the Expert Panel
