This full day course will walk you through all the steps – from the professional obligations of licensing a firm to the basics of setting up a practice. Understand the different client-architect contracts you will use and your minimum scope of service. Learn about client relations and firm marketing, as well as discuss the challenges and opportunities to successful ownership. Gain an appreciation for the capital required to maintain a small firm through the emergent years to prepare for a thriving, sustainable practice, and hear firsthand about what it is like to become a principal of a firm.
Blueprint for Business can be taken as one of the elective course options as part of the requirements for registration through the Internship in Architecture Program.
