AIBC Bulletins 2, 3 and 5 have been updated, with highlights of any changes listed below. Please review the bulletins in their entirety to fully understand how they apply to your practice.
Bulletin 2: Reinstatement of Registration
This bulletin provides information to AIBC registrants seeking to reinstate their registration. Registrants include architects, associates, architectural firms, and temporary licensees.
Revisions to Bulletin 2 seek to clarify the authority of the Registration Board regarding reinstatement requirements, including the administration of a reinstatement interview for architects following a registration absence. The revisions are not a change to the interpretation of the relevant sections of the Architects Act or AIBC Bylaws.
Those who wish to reinstate their registration with the AIBC are responsible, amongst a number of requirements, for reconciling any outstanding annual renewal fees. The Application for Reinstatement and other relevant material is available online. Please be reminded to list on the application jurisdictions where you hold or previously held registration to practice architecture.

Members who are sole proprietors and hold a Certificate of Practice are reminded that they may also request on their application consideration for a waiver or reduction of their firm fees.
The recognition of long-standing registration, introduced in 2016, is now also referenced. Eligible retired architects who want to take advantage of this program are required to email the Registration and Licensing department at accounts@aibc.ca by the January 15 deadline.
