Mission Possible was Mission Success!

December 5, 2017

Mission Possible was truly a “Mission Success!” Hosted by the AIBC Intern Architect Committee, the social event took place on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at the AIBC offices.

With nearly 50 attendees, intern architects learned about the journey to registration through a panel discussion which was moderated by Architect AIBC Gavin Schaefer. Intern architects also had the opportunity to network with peers and mentors during the social part of the evening.

Below are several topics that were discussed at Mission Possible:

  1. How to get registered.
  2. The work/life balance of an Intern Architect AIBC, especially while studying for exams.
  3. Tips on how to get work experience, and how to make the most of your placement once you’ve landed a position.
  4. Advice on choosing between the different types of exams.
  5. An overview of what it’s like being a new architect and setting up your own firm.

If you weren’t able to attend Mission Possible, make sure to join the 2018 AIBC Annual Conference, which is being held from May 7–9 at the Vancouver Convention Centre West. There will be a dedicated session on ExAC, as well as many opportunities for intern architects to network with Architects AIBC.
