It’s National Volunteer Week! This is a time to celebrate and thank the many invaluable volunteers who contribute thousands of hours of their time each year, and who are critical to the success of both the profession of architecture in British Columbia and the Institute. AIBC volunteers help shape the profession, contribute to the community and further self-regulation. In 2017, volunteers dedicated nearly 8000 volunteer hours to the AIBC, and for that, we are truly grateful.
The AIBC supports and encourages volunteer participation, providing a variety of opportunities for individuals to share their expertise and contribute to the profession.
AIBC Recognition Ceremony & Awards
The Recognition Ceremony is held every fall, and celebrates our devoted volunteers. In addition to formally acknowledging the contribution of all our volunteers, who have made positive impacts in the profession of architecture, five prestigious awards are presented: AIBC Lifetime Achievement Award, AIBC Special Recognition Award, the Barbara Dalrymple Memorial Award for Community Service, Award for Lifetime Volunteer Achievement, and the CEO Award for Exceptional Volunteer Service.
This year, the nomination process has been updated and significantly streamlined. It’s now easier than ever to recognize committed volunteers for their outstanding contributions to the profession, the community or the Institute. Nominations are now being accepted for the 2018 AIBC Recognition Awards.
