The 2018 Annual Firm Information Update has officially begun. This important regulatory requirement keeps firm information current, and helps maintain the integrity of the AIBC Register. The online directory of architectural firms, which is available to the public, is based on the AIBC Register. The information collected during the information update is also used to issue accurate annual fee invoices.
Completing the annual update by the deadline is mandatory for all architectural firms under AIBC Bylaw 15.3 (PDF). It is your firm’s professional responsibility to comply with this bylaw, if only to confirm that the information on record is correct. Failure to complete the annual firm update as requested may constitute a disciplinary violation.
Deadline
The deadline for completing this year’s update is October 31, 2018. Please login to your firm’s online profile and follow the instructions to complete the Annual Firm Information Update.
Invoices
Any changes on firm size provided will be used to issue annual fee invoices. Members can expect to receive their invoices via email during the week of November 19, 2018.
Professional Liability Insurance
The Professional Liability Insurance (PLI) Bylaws are now in effect. Firms that hold certificates of practice are required to have PLI coverage in the prescribed amount on or before February 1, 2019. This year, the PLI related questions included in the firm update are mandatory to answer.
