Now Hiring! AIBC Seeking Practice Advisor

February 6, 2019

Applications accepted until February 10, 2019.

The AIBC has an opportunity for a motivated individual who is up for a rewarding role in a professional, public interest organization. We are seeking a full-time (open to part-time) Practice Advisor to join our dynamic and collaborative team. Reporting to the Manager of Professional Services, this position plays an important role within the Institute and will appeal to those who have a strong interest in professional regulation, the practice of architecture, and interpreting related legislative documents.

Under the direction of the Lead Practice Advisor, this position advises members and the public on matters related to architectural fees, services and engagement, standards of practice and professional ethics, Architects Act, Bylaws, Code of Ethics, and occasionally liaises with government agencies. The Practice Advisor also supports policy development and implementation on matters related to the practice of architecture, and acts as a resource on architectural practice to AIBC staff.

Qualifications

You are a registered Architect AIBC who is accessible, thorough, firm, and tactful. You thrive in professional environments that encourage you to work with considerable autonomy, exercise independent judgement, and model discretion, confidentiality, and professional ethics to the highest degree. You have a thorough understanding of regulatory requirements, extensive knowledge of governance in self-regulating professions in Canada, and can effectively convey key messages on complex issues. You have gained these capacities through at least seven years’ experience in practice with sound working knowledge of professional practice, regulation and ethics.

The AIBC nurtures and maintains institutional excellence through continuous improvement and mutual respect. Our team fosters a welcoming, progressive and collaborative environment. You will be offered a comprehensive and competitive total rewards package, including membership in the Public Service Pension Plan. Working in our downtown Vancouver heritage building, we are centrally located near a variety of excellent cultural, restaurant and commuter options.

How to Apply

If you are interested in joining us, please send your cover letter and resume (in one PDF document) to Michaela Bogart, Human Resources Specialist at hr@aibc.ca by Sunday, February 10, 2019.

All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.
