It is with much regret that the Architectural Institute of British Columbia acknowledges the passing of Alyson Mack Lewis (Mack), on June 11, 2020 at the age of 86.
Mack was born in Aberdeen, Saskatchewan, and graduated from Saskatoon Technical Collegiate. Mack was an experienced draftsperson, working on multiple projects in the Northwest Territories and Victoria, B.C. In 1972, Mack became registered with the Architectural Institute of British Columbia after completing the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada Architecture Syllabus Program. His architectural career spanned over several decades, with nearly 25 years as an Architect AIBC.
Mack eventually moved from Victoria, B.C. with his family to San Diego, California.
In his obituary, he is remembered for “his intelligence, his razor-edged sense of humor, his keen powers of observation, and his broad interests.” Mack is survived by his son, Scott Carter Lewis (Vancouver), his daughter Nancy Ann Lewis (Toronto), his grandson Phelan Henry Lewis (Victoria), and his wife of 40 years, Kate.
