In Passing | Donald C. Andrew Architect AIBC

August 4, 2020

It is with much regret and sadness that the Architectural Institute of British Columbia acknowledges the passing of Donald C. Andrew (Don) Architect AIBC on April 13, 2020.

Don was born in London, UK on May 29, 1949. After living around the world with his family, eventually they settled in Ontario, Canada. Don graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Architecture. He then moved west to begin his architectural career in British Columbia, where he became registered with the AIBC in 1977 and met his long-term partner, Ken Falk Architect AIBC. He and Ken were the principals at Creekside Architects Ltd in Vancouver for 31 years, focusing primarily on mid-sized commercial and residential projects.

Don was an Architect AIBC for more than 40 years, and an active volunteer with the Institute. He supported those seeking registration through the Internship in Architecture Program as an Oral Reviewer, as well as served on New Westminster Advisory Design Panel for several years.

In his obituary, Don is remembered as “strong and dependable, quiet and capable, funny and kind”. He will be missed by his friends, family, and the architectural community.
