As announced in July, the AIBC will be moving from the Ministry of Advanced Education, Skills and Training to the Ministry of the Attorney General, and eventually transitioning from the Architects Act to the Professional Governance Act.
To provide registrants an opportunity to speak with the government directly about the transition, the AIBC is hosting a virtual Town Hall session with Paul Craven, the Superintendent of the Office of Professional Governance (OSPG). He will be joined by Council President Ian R. McDonald and Mark Vernon, CEO of the AIBC.
The Town Hall will begin with a presentation to provide an overview of the Professional Governance Act and OSPG. It will outline the history of the Office and legislation, and what impacts will occur from its introduction, specifically on professional practice and architectural regulation. Following the presentation, there will be a dedicated Q&A period where attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions about the transition.
