The University of British Columbia School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture (UBC SALA) is currently seeking professional mentors for the 2020/21 academic year.
The SALA Mentor Program began in 2011 to provide students with an opportunity to establish a mentoring relationship with a professional. Mentors are matched with a final year student, and expected to connect with the individual regularly and offer feedback on their design work, including their graduate project, as well as provide guidance as they transition from the academic to professional environment. The typical time commitment for a mentor over the year, including planned program events, is approximately 15-20 hours.
In addition, active mentors can self-report AIBC Learning Units (please refer to Bulletin 80: Mandatory Continuing Education System (CES) for further information.)
If you are interested in becoming a mentor, complete the online application.
Students will self-select their mentor based on application information, and introductions will be sent the third week of September.
