The Architectural Institute of British Columbia congratulates the 2021 graduating classes of the University of British Columbia (UBC) Master of Architecture program, and the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) Bachelor of Architectural Science and Architectural & Building Technology Diploma programs.
This year’s graduates met the challenge of the COVID-19 pandemic head-on and adapted to completing their last year of study in an online environment, which for some, also meant doing so in a different time zone than their peers and instructors. Although their academic journey was different than usual, their achievements are none the less significant.
UBC’s School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture (SALA) held its virtual ceremony on June 2 and a collection of the graduating students’ projects has been shared in an online SALON 2021 exhibit. Upon the recommendation of UBC SALA faculty, Amanda Nalli was named the 2021 recipient of the Architectural Institute of British Columbia medal, which is presented to an outstanding graduating Master of Architecture student who has demonstrated academic excellence in design and who holds the promise of making a contribution to the profession of architecture. The list of all 2021 graduation award recipients in SALA is available online.
BCIT held its virtual graduation ceremony in July and has also shared the list of student award recipients online. Among those of the graduating class selected by BCIT faculty to be recognized for their academic standing, as well as demonstration of leadership, service, and all-around achievement are:
- Kai Schulz, Leanna Steeves, and Anna von Euw, who all completed the Architectural & Building Technology program.
- Syeda Khadeeja and Anthony Marques, who completed their Bachelor of Architectural Science degree.
The AIBC proudly supports students pursuing a career as an Architect AIBC or Architectural Technologist AIBC by providing a selection of scholarships and bursaries at UBC and BCIT. Visit the scholarship and bursary program webpage to learn more.
Congratulations once again to the 2021 graduates!
