The Government of BC is seeking input on how to help improve accessibility in new buildings, and are inviting feedback through an online survey. The online survey will be available on the govTogetherBC website until December 9, 2021: https://engage.gov.bc.ca/govtogetherbc/consultation/building-code-accessibility.
Information about the BC Building Code accessibility requirements is available on the Building and Safety Standard’s website at https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/industry/construction-industry/building-codes-standards/accessibility.
Feedback will help inform proposed changes to the next BC Building Code. In the second phase of engagement, planned to occur in 2023, there will be an opportunity to comment on the proposed BC Building Code changes.
