2022 AIBC Conference Update: Switching to Online Only

February 2, 2022

In July 2021, the AIBC announced the 2022 AIBC Conference would be held from May 2–4 and explore the theme “View to the Future”. The event was slated to be held in-person at the Vancouver Convention Centre.

Given the current circumstances and uncertainty surrounding the pandemic, the AIBC has made the difficult decision to hold the 2022 AIBC Conference virtually. The event will still take place from May 2–4, and will offer three days of learning and networking opportunities – although it will be fully hosted online.

The health and safety of our attendees, staff, and community is of utmost importance. With the uncertainty surrounding current and potential new COVID-19 variants, in addition to changing health protocol restrictions which impact in-person gatherings, it was decided that an online only event would ensure the best experience for AIBC registrants, from both a health and learning perspective.

The AIBC strives to provide engaging and quality learning opportunities for registrants, and this year’s Conference will be no different. Although it will be online, Conference 2022 programming will feature a wide range of speakers who will share their expertise on topics that are highly relevant to today’s architectural practice. More details about speakers and sessions will be shared soon, and registration will open later in February.

The AIBC looks forward to welcoming attendees to a virtual 2022 AIBC Conference.
