September 30 is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. This is a day of learning, listening, commemoration, and reflection. For the second year, the AIBC will be closed on this day in support of our efforts for truth and reconciliation, and inclusion.
Last year, the AIBC shared a list of Truth and Reconciliation resources for staff to continue their learning about the experience of Indigenous people in Canada. This year, we continue our commitment and have compiled additional resources, including websites, events, media, and Indigenous-owned businesses. While the list is not exhaustive, we encourage our staff, registrants, and the public to create time and give thought to their own commitment towards truth and reconciliation, on both a personal and professional level.
