Registration is now open for the 2023 AIBC Governance sessions! This online event is complimentary and is open to all AIBC registrants and current volunteers. Please note this session is focused on Institute Governance, not the PGA.
The AIBC Governance session provides registrants with an overview of the Institute’s governance, the role of the regulator, and fiduciary responsibilities. The session is designed for those interested in putting their name forward for AIBC Council in 2023 or future years, as well as current AIBC volunteers. Please note that attendance is mandatory for Council nominees, including Registrant Councillors seeking re-election, to be eligible for nomination by the AIBC Nomination Committee.
Presented by Kathy McLaughlin, governance specialist and Principal of Kathy McLaughlin & Associates, and Thomas Lutes, Deputy CEO and General Counsel at the AIBC, the Governance Session covers many important topics that are helpful and necessary for volunteers as well as Councillors, including:
- Policy governance model
- Fiduciary duties
- Role of the regulator
A live online session will be hosted on March 8, 2023, from 12 to 2 p.m. via Zoom. If you are unable to attend the live session, there will be an opportunity to view the recording on March 17 and participate in a live Q&A.
