There are only a few weeks left to submit an application form for the 2023 AIBC Council Election, as the Call for Councillor Nominees closes on March 20, 2023 at 4 p.m. Joining AIBC Council is an opportunity to help shape the work of the public-interest body responsible for regulating the profession of architecture in British Columbia. We encourage Architects in Good Standing to get involved with the governance of the AIBC.
Prospective nominees are requested to review the 2023 Council Election Nominee Information Package (PDF). The package includes submission instructions, the nomination and evaluation processes, and all relevant forms, including the Nominee Application Form (PDF). As a reminder, under the Professional Governance Act, only nominees nominated by the Nomination Committee are eligible to run in the council election. The evaluation process includes an interview with the Nomination Committee to be held between March 28 to 30, 2023. It is highly recommended that nomination material be submitted as early as possible to secure a preferred interview slot.
AIBC Governance Sessions
Attendance at an AIBC Governance Session is mandatory for all council nominees to be eligible for nomination by the Nomination Committee to stand for election, including councillors seeking re-election. A live online session will be hosted on March 8, 2023 from 12 to 2 p.m. If you are unable to attend the live session, there will be an opportunity to view the recording on March 17 and participate in a live Q&A immediately after.
