Variety of Learning Opportunities
A wide variety of topics will be covered at PD Day 2023, such as affordability, sustainability, inclusive architecture, and more. Attendees can tailor their learning experience to suit their areas of interest and expertise. Some sessions include:
- An Investigation of the Costs of Accessibility: Building to RHFAC Gold
According to a poll from the Angus Reid Institute, 24% of Canadians identify as having a mobility, vision, or hearing disability. This session will explore methods and strategies for integrating advanced accessibility strategies, and meeting the needs of Canadians of all ages and abilities. - Less is Less
Design’s influence reaches far beyond individual buildings. Learn how the built environment plays a critical role in ensuring that our collective future is more equitable, just, and flourishing. - Tackling Carbon: Lessons from Design and Construction Phases
This technical panel will provide an overview of whole life carbon emissions and the importance of addressing embodied emissions. The panel will use two case studies to illustrate decision making processes for low carbon design solutions, results from life cycle modeling studies, and the lessons learned from moving from design into the construction administration phase in maintaining each project’s low carbon aspirations.
All session descriptions and the speaker lineup can be found on the PD Day 2023 website.
