2023 Certified Professional (CP) Course Results

The AIBC is pleased to report the results of the 2023 Certified Professional (CP) course.

The CP course was jointly run by AIBC and Engineers and Geoscientists BC, and consisted of 12 full-day seminars, all of which were held online. The course concluded with two 8-hour exams, which took place on April 26 and May 3, 2023. The CP course is intended for architects, engineers, and those with a strong knowledge of Canadian building codes and experience in the building construction industry wishing to advance their building code knowledge. Architects and engineers who pass the exam and meet the other course criteria can practice as CPs. The successful Intern Architects AIBC and Engineers-In-Training (EIT) will be able to practice as CPs when they become registered.

Out of the 37 candidates who wrote the CP Exam, 21 passed.

The pass rate was above 55 percent, which is the highest it has been in several years. Congratulations to all of the successful candidates!

The AIBC thanks the individuals who contributed to the success of this group, particularly Teresa Coady Architect AIBC, the CP Program Manager who was responsible for course coordination and delivery, and Krista Sutherland, Professional Development Lead at the AIBC.
