Notarius, the AIBC’s digital seal provider, has a limited time promotional rate on the digital signature sign-up fee, until August 31, 2023. Architects AIBC can also get a digital signature for any additional jurisdiction in Canada in which they are registered with no sign-up fee, once they hold an approved and activated Professional Signature.
When Architects AIBC deliver documents digitally, the electronic versions of their seal is required by Professional Standard 8.5 in Schedule A: Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct, and discussed in Bulletin 60: Signature, Seal and Delivery of Electronic Documents. A digital seal is an encrypted electronic ‘signature’ that assures the origin of an electronic document, its integrity, and its authenticity. For Architects, this allows architectural documents to be securely signed, sealed, and delivered electronically.
The digital certificate (seal) is applied with the Notarius software ConsignO. The Notarius digital signature may also be applied with other applications, such as Bluebeam or Adobe Acrobat.
