September 30 is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
This is a day of learning, listening, commemoration, and reflection. All Registrants, AIBC staff, and the public are encouraged to give thought to their own commitment towards Truth and Reconciliation.
The AIBC has compiled a list of Truth and Reconciliation resources for staff to continue their learning about the experience of Indigenous peoples in Canada. The list is not exhaustive, and we encourage you to find additional learning sources:
- Truth and Reconciliation Resources 2023 (PDF)
- National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation
- Government of Canada – National Day of Truth and Reconciliation

Mandatory Indigenous Peoples Learning in Effect for CES Participants
The AIBC Board has mandated Indigenous Peoples Learning for CES Participants (Architects, Architectural Technologists, Intern Architects) as part of the AIBC’s Continuing Education System. An Indigenous Peoples Learning Resources Document (PDF) has been prepared to help CES participants find learning opportunities. To learn more about the requirement, please review the CES webpage.
