AIBC Note: Please be advised that the 2024 BC Building Code Update Course is not a substitute or replacement of the mandatory Internship in Architecture Program BC Building Code course.
Registration for the 2024 BC Building Code Update Course, presented by the AIBC, is now open. The course will take place virtually on Tuesday, March 26, 2024.
As recently announced, the new 2024 BC Building and Plumbing Code comes into effect on March 8, 2024, and will apply to building permits applied for on or after that date. This course will focus on Parts 1, 2 and 3 of the BC Building Code. The 2024 BC Building Code includes most of the 2020 National Building code updates, but there are some BC-specific Code changes.

The 2024 BC Building Code Update Course is a full-day session with scheduled breaks and lunch, and eligible for continuing education credit. AIBC CES Participants will earn up to 6.5 Core Learning Units (LUs) for attending. This session will be offered remotely via Zoom. The Zoom link will be emailed to all attendees separately, after registration closes.
Registration is open to all; however, attendance is mandatory for Certified Professionals (CPs). CPs who are unable to attend the live session must contact the AIBC to make alternate viewing arrangements.
