The Discipline Notice publishes findings and admissions of unprofessional conduct by AIBC Registrants.
As the regulator of the architectural profession in British Columbia, the AIBC establishes, monitors, and enforces standards of ethical and professional conduct for all AIBC Registrants: Architects, Architectural Firms, Intern Architects, Architectural Technologists, Retired Architects, and Temporary Licensees (Architects). All Discipline Violations are Published in accordance with the requirements under AIBC Bylaw heading 8.0 Public Disclosure.
Note: The breaches noted below reference the repealed Architects Act and former AIBC Bylaws that were in force at the time of the infractions. The corresponding Professional Standards in Schedule A: Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct under are also identified for reference.
Michael Ting Ho Cheung Architect AIBC made admissions, by way of a consent order, that he breached former AIBC Bylaws 28.0, 28.1, and 34.10 and council ruling (b), in the Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct, effective March 25, 2021 (current Professional Standards 5.1, 5.2 and 5.6 in the AIBC Bylaws Schedule A: Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct), by providing architectural services to clients on certain projects without a written and executed Client-Architect Contract.
The facts and terms of this consent order were acknowledged and agreed to by Michael Ting Ho Cheung Architect AIBC and the AIBC Investigation Committee on December 6, 2024.
