The Institute is pleased to announce the 2025–2026 AIBC Board and Board Officers.
As a reminder, under the Professional Governance Act, there are seven elected Registrant Board Members, four appointed Lay (public) Board Members, and a non-voting Immediate Past Board Chair. Registrant Board Member terms are three years, and under the Bylaws, the Board Chair and Board Vice Chair terms are two years. The Treasurer term is one year, as per Board Policy.
In 2025, no Board election was held given the three-year election cycle for Registrant Board Members.

* Under Section 23(2)c of the Professional Governance Act, the Immediate Past Board Chair (IPBC) is a non-voting Board Member. This means that someone cannot be both the IPBC (a non-voting Board Member) and a Registrant Board Member (a voting Board Member) at the same time. To avoid taking away voting rights from an elected Registrant Board Member, they retain their voting rights until their elected term ends. For 2025–2026, this means Stuart Rothnie Architect AIBC will continue serving as the IPBC, even though Marguerite Laquinte Francis just completed her term as Board Chair and is next in line for the position, as she is still serving out her elected Board Member term.
