The Discipline Notice publishes findings and admissions of Professional Misconduct, Conduct Unbecoming a Registrant, Incompetent performance of duties, or a breach of the Professional Governance Act (PGA), its regulations or these Bylaws by AIBC Registrants.
As the regulator of the architectural profession in British Columbia, the AIBC establishes, monitors, and enforces standards of ethical and professional conduct for all AIBC Registrants: Architects, Architectural Firms, Intern Architects, Architectural Technologists, Retired Architects, and Temporary Licensees (Architects). All Discipline Violations are Published in accordance with the requirements under the AIBC Bylaw heading 8.0 Public Disclosure.
Note: The PGA authorizes the AIBC to propose resolution by reprimand or remedial action by consent on matters that may otherwise be dealt with at a Discipline Hearing. Section 72 of the PGA and AIBC Bylaws 7.1 through 7.5 provide the specific processes and procedures by which the AIBC and a Registrant may reach a consent or undertaking.
AIBC Discipline Decisions
David C. Battersby Architect AIBC, by way of a reprimand or remedial action by consent, consented to a reprimand and undertaking that when acting as project owner or contractor and providing architectural services on the same project, he will disclose his status in writing to all relevant authorities and contracting parties, and will make reasonable efforts to obtain and document written acknowledgment of such disclosure.
