The provincial government has named Lara Gregurić as a public appointee to the AIBC Board, by way of a Lieutenant Governor Order in Council, effective June 18, 2025.
Lara Gregurić is an executive with experience in higher education, pharmaceutical, financial services, advisory services, and public sectors. For the past 18 years, Lara has held various leadership roles with the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) Western School of Business.
Lara is a leader in the Canadian CPA profession, contributing through committee work that furthers the profession’s educational goals. She chaired the New CPA Certification Program Steering Committee, a national committee whose mandate was to develop a new CPA certification program that is attractive, inclusive, and innovative; protects the public; and meets the diverse and evolving needs of learners, the market, and governments. She has previously chaired or been a member of three other national committees responsible for the strategic direction of the CPA certification program.
Lara enjoys contributing to her community through various governance roles. She recently completed an eight-year term as a member of the North Vancouver District Public Library Board, and sits on numerous accounting program advisory committees for post-secondary institutions in Alberta and British Columbia.
A CPA, CA since 1998, the Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia honoured Lara with fellowship in 2020. She completed a Master of Arts degree in Leadership in 2010 and obtained the ICD.D designation through the Institute of Corporate Directors in March 2025. She also regularly speaks at accounting education conferences across the country.
The AIBC Board consists of 11 voting members: 7 elected Architects AIBC in Good Standing, and four publicly appointed lay members. The Immediate Past Board Chair is a non-voting Board Member. The Province’s Crown Agencies and Board Resourcing Office designates lay appointees, a voluntary role, to regulatory bodies such as the AIBC with the express purpose of protecting the public interest. Of the four publicly appointed positions, Lara Gregurić joins fellow appointees: John Crawford, Michael Racich, and Laura Wilson.
