The Nomination Committee is now accepting nominee applications from Architects AIBC for the 2026 Board election!
The application deadline is February 24, 2026, and all Architects AIBC in Good Standing are encouraged to get involved with the governance of the AIBC. The Board provides leadership, regulatory direction, and policy governance in compliance with the Professional Governance Act, AIBC Bylaws and the Board’s own policies.
Those interested in applying must submit their completed Nominee Application Form and résumé/C.V. by 4 p.m. on Tuesday, February 24. More information about the Board Nomination process can be found below and on the AIBC website.

What You Bring to the Board
- Desire to contribute to the profession in the interest of the public
- Knowledge of the AIBC’s role in regulating the profession of architecture in British Columbia
- Experience in strategic thinking, risk management, budget and policy oversight, and human resources
- Strong professional attributes, including integrity and sound judgement
Did You Know?
- Architects AIBC from small, medium, and large firms with varied length of registration are encouraged to apply
- Board experience is preferred and not mandatory – desired skills and competencies may be transferrable from professional and personal experience
- Diversity of opinion, experience, competencies, and geographic location are valued qualities
What We Ask of You
- Commitment to three-year term
- Participation in an orientation session, and the Oath of Office
- Monthly time commitment of approximately three hours
Three Step Application Process – Apply by February 24
The application period is open to Architects AIBC from January 27 to February 24, 2026. There are only three steps to apply:
- Register for and attend the free mandatory governance webinar by emailing oceo@aibc.ca.
- Submit an application and résumé/C.V. to nominations@aibc.ca by 4 p.m. on February 24.
- Attend an in-person interview with the Nomination Committee (PDF).
