National Day for Truth and Reconciliation 2026

September 28, 2026

September 30 is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

The Institute encourages all Registrants, AIBC staff, and the public to deepen their understanding of the history and experiences of Indigenous Peoples in Canada. The AIBC has updated its Truth and Reconciliation resources document, which provides a selection of educational materials on Truth and Reconciliation, including online articles, videos, books, and courses. These resources are not exhaustive, and are intended to provide a starting point for continued learning.

The AIBC will also be hosting its Fall PD Series over the coming months. As part of the series, a dedicated session on Indigenous Peoples Learning will be offered. These sessions are open to everyone – further details will be posted on the AIBC website once registration opens.
