The AIBC is excited to announce the 2018 AIBC Architectural Awards Jury. Comprised of four esteemed individuals, the jury will convene on March 24 to adjudicate the submissions and select this year’s award winners. Award recipients will be announced at the AIBC Architectural Awards Reception held on April 19, 2018.

Matthew Emerson Architect AIBC NCARB LEED AP, Associate Vice-President, HDR|CEI
Matthew is an architect with global experience, having practiced in British Columbia, Philadelphia, Virginia, London and Qatar. Following his graduation from Virginia Tech, he has focused much of his career on designing public buildings including schools, colleges, universities, hospitals and embassies. He serves as the Education sector leader in British Columbia and Alberta for HDR | CEI.
To create enduring architecture that is considerate towards the environment and inspiring to its inhabitants is the ultimate goal of most architects. The pinnacle is to do this while affirming the responsibility to do work for the public good.
Heba Maleki Intern Architect AIBC
Since receiving her Master of Architecture from the University of British Columbia in 2014, Heba has explored her creative interests through various professional outlets. Her previous work experience extends beyond architecture to the realm and scale of art object and installations, and graphic, furniture and interior design. Since the summer of 2015, Heba has been working at Patkau Architects where she continues to develop professionally as an Intern Architect AIBC. She has worked on a range of projects from high-end residential to large institutional buildings. In addition to her architectural duties, Heba manages media and communications at Patkau.
Diarmuid Nash Architect AIBC FRAIC
Diarmuid is currently Partner at Moriyama & Teshima Architects, which has offices in both Toronto and Ottawa. He is also the Chancellor of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada College of Fellows, and a lecturer at the Daniels School of Architecture. He is looking forward to serving on the 2018 AIBC Awards Jury celebrating architectural design excellence in B.C.
Diarmuid feels that architects recognize, from concept design through to final construction, constant challenges that come in creating and sustaining a great building. Award recognition from the profession, informs the public that excellence in architecture reaches beyond the practical, by embracing new standards and defining new boundaries.
Homa Rameshg Architect AIBC MRAIC, Owner, Rameshg Architect
With more than three decades of professional experience both in Canada and abroad, Homa Rameshg has designed and managed architectural projects for leading private companies, government organizations, and developers. She brings to her work a unique sense of composition and spatial use, as well as a strong dedication to sustainability.
