Annual Meeting Booklet and Annual Report Now Available

April 9, 2019

100th AIBC Annual Meeting

The AIBC’s 100th Annual Meeting will be taking place on May 6, 2019, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. at the Vancouver Convention Centre West. This is an opportunity to hear from your elected council about the past year, discuss areas of interest, as well as connect with colleagues – register online by May 5.

Annual Meeting Booklet and Annual Report

With a new century upon the AIBC, the Institute is pleased to present a refreshed approach to Annual Meeting material.

The Annual Meeting Booklet continues to contain all of the material required to participate in the Annual Meeting: Notice of the 100th Annual Meeting, Annual Meeting Agenda, Annual Meeting Protocols and Member Motion Form, Draft Minutes of the 99th Annual Meeting, Honorary Membership Nominations, 2018 Audited Financial Statements and the Appointment of the Auditor.

In recognition of the AIBC’s decades of regulating the profession of architecture in B.C. and the 100th AIBC Annual Meeting, a special commemorative Annual Report has been published. This separate, stand-alone piece highlights activities and programs that occurred throughout 2018 in a digestible and visual format. It includes infographics, historical facts, photos and timelines that commemorate the Institute’s centenary.

Download the Annual Report (PDF).

The Annual Meeting Booklet and the Annual Report are available online. Printed copies will not be mailed to registrants; however, hard copies will be available at the Annual Meeting and Centenary Reception.

2019 Annual Meeting – Call for Member Motions

The Members’ Forum is an opportunity to raise and discuss issues of interest to the profession. The forum takes place before the end of the Annual Meeting, time permitting.

Members are invited to submit a motion by April 25, 2019. Motions may also be submitted to a member of the Motions Review Committee up to 30 minutes after the Annual Meeting has been called to order. Anyone bringing forward a motion at the meeting must have a written version of the proposed motion in hand at the meeting, and be prepared to speak to it, with a seconder already identified.

To submit a motion for review by the Motions Review Committee, refer to the Annual Meeting Booklet for Annual Meeting Protocols (page 4); a copy of the Member Motion Form can be found on page 5. Member motions submitted prior to the April 25, 2019 deadline can be sent to Tracy Tough at ttough@aibc.ca.

In the event that time does not allow for all member motions to be heard, any motions not presented at the Annual Meeting will still be considered by AIBC Council.
