Since the April 2019 update, the Tariff of Fees for Architectural Services Project has completed phase two of its work, which involved analyzing architectural services by sector as a basis for determining fees. Since then, the seven working groups have continued their work and conducted more than 50 meetings in total – phase three is well underway.
The core component of the third phase is evaluating the appropriate minimum fees for architectural services. As part of this work, seven Tariff of Fees for Architectural Services Surveys have been created, one for each of the different working groups. The purpose is to gain a better understanding of how architects currently approach fees for their professional services.
The committee is asking that all Architects AIBC participate in one or more of the surveys – this will help provide a more accurate representation of the profession for analysis, as well as assist in determining the appropriate fee percentages in the next edition of the Tariff.
Architects AIBC can respond to any (or all) of the following surveys. The deadline to submit responses is January 31, 2020.
