The next round of Oral Reviews is scheduled for March 10, March 12, and March 17. To download the application form and view complete details, please visit the AIBC website. Depending on the number of applicants, supplemental Oral Reviews may be scheduled on March 18.
Applications are now being accepted until Tuesday, February 4, 2020. Oral Reviews are interview-based examinations that assess a candidate’s ability to practice architecture in British Columbia in accordance with local practice requirements.
The Oral Reviews are open to Intern Architects AIBC who have fulfilled both of the following criteria:
- Logged at least 2800 hours of approved work experience, preferably in all experience categories.
- Completed all required AIBC professional development courses.
Oral Reviews are also open to Broadly Experienced Applicants (BEA) candidates who have:
- Completed the Oral Assessment.
- Completed all Oral Assessment panel recommendations and/or requirements.
- Completed all required AIBC professional development courses.
Applications, along with a letter from the Supervising Architect and fees, must be received by February 4, 2020. Submissions can be emailed to iap@aibc.ca or sent to the AIBC office. After the closing date, AIBC Registration and Licensing staff will contact you directly to confirm your eligibility.
Oral Review Preparation Workshop
A free Oral Review Preparation Workshop will be offered on February 20 at 6 p.m. Attendance is highly recommended for all Intern Architects AIBC and Broadly Experienced Applicant (BEA) candidates preparing for their Oral Review. Supervising Architects and Mentors of intern architects are also welcome. Space is limited – please RSVP in advance to reserve your seat.
