2020/21 AIBC Council Nominees Announced and Council Election E-Vote

The AIBC is pleased to announce that six Architects AIBC have put their names forward as nominees for the five positions in the upcoming AIBC Council election, set to open April 9, 2020.

The AIBC Nominations Review Committee evaluated the nominees to determine if they met the stated competencies and recruitment requirements of council. After a thorough review of each of the nominee’s nomination materials and résumé, augmented by an interview, the Nominations Review Committee concluded that all six nominees met the criteria to be endorsed, as noted with an asterisk (“*”) in the list below.

The names of the six nominees are listed in random order in accordance with the procedures adhered to in Council Rules 4: Council Elections, Section 2.4.

*Stuart Rothnie Architect AIBC

*Marguerite Laquinte Francis Architect AIBC

*Ian Ross McDonald Architect AIBC

2020 Council Election E-Vote

The election period will open on April 9 and close on May 4, in compliance with Section 8(1) of the Architects Act. The 2020 election will take place by electronic voting. Paper ballots will not be mailed out.

Detailed voting instructions will be emailed directly to eligible voting members and honorary members on April 9. Election results will be announced on May 4 following the close of the electronic vote.

Please note that while the AIBC had to postpone the 101st Annual Meeting as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 AIBC Council Election will continue as scheduled.
