The 2020 AIBC Council Election e-vote began on April 9 and concluded on May 4, at 12 p.m.
In accordance with Section 10(3) of the Architects Act and Rule 3.4 of the Council Rules for Council Elections, the AIBC Registrar has certified the following election results. Further to the postponement of the 101st Annual Meeting, the AIBC Registrar will carry out the duties assigned in Rule 3.5 of the Council Rules by electronic means as a best effort to comply with the rule in these circumstances.
The names of the six nominees for five positions on the 2020/21 AIBC Council are listed in random order in accordance with the procedures adhered to in Rule 2.4 of the Council Rules. The number in brackets is the votes each candidate received. 559 eligible registrants voted.

The newly elected council members, listed in alphabetical order, are: Michelle Fenton Architect AIBC, Jana Foit Architect AIBC, Marguerite Laquinte Francis Architect AIBC, Ian Ross McDonald Architect AIBC, and Stuart Rothnie Architect AIBC.
The first meeting of the new AIBC Council will be held virtually on May 12, 2020. At this meeting, council will elect its officers, including the President, Vice President and Treasurer, as well as appoint the Registrar and the Registration Board. Registrants will be notified of the officer election results and appointments via the website on May 15, 2020.
