Updated Bulletin 80: Mandatory Continuing Education System (CES) and Practice Guideline: Continuing Education System Now Available

March 31, 2021

Updated Bulletin 80: Mandatory Continuing Education System (CES) and Practice Guideline: Continuing Education System (previously CES Guidelines) are now available.

Amendment Overview

Minor revisions were made to Bulletin 80: Mandatory Continuing Education System (CES) to provide further clarity and guidance on CES processes.

The previous CES Guidelines were converted into a Practice Guideline (Practice Guideline: Continuing Education System). A new graphic template was applied, and adjustments were made to improve syntax and update the document’s organization and format. Other updates included additional guidance on the classification of learning activities and a new section regarding intern architect specific activities.

The document amendments took into consideration the feedback and questions received by the Professional Services Department over the past reporting cycle (2018 – 2020) and the recent addition of intern architects as CES Participants (as of July 1, 2020). Several edits were incorporated in response to CES Survey comments, such as further clarification regarding Core and Non-core classification. We appreciate the feedback of CES Participants as we continue to ensure that professional development opportunities offered at and through the AIBC continue to increase the competency, acumen, and resiliency of registrants.
