The AIBC is pleased to report the results of the 2021 Certified Professional (CP) course. The CP course was jointly delivered by the AIBC and Engineers and Geoscientists BC, and consisted of 12 full-day seminars, all held online given the COVID-19 pandemic. The course concluded with two 8-hour exams, which took place on April 21 and 28, 2021.
The CP course is intended for architects, engineers and others with a strong knowledge of Canadian building codes and experience in the building construction industry wishing to advance their building code knowledge. Architects and engineers who pass the exam and meet the other course criteria can practice as CPs. The successful Intern Architects AIBC and Engineers-In-Training will be able to practice as CPs when they become registered.
Out of the 31 candidates who wrote the CP Exam, 16 passed:
- Five Architects AIBC
- Six Professional Engineers
- Three Engineers-in-Training
- Two Other Individuals
The pass rate was above 50 percent, which is the highest it has been in several years. Congratulations to all of the successful candidates!
We would also like to give a big thank you to those who contributed to the success of this group, particularly Teresa Coady Architect AIBC, the CP Program Manager, responsible for course coordination and delivery.
