Building Officials’ Association of British Columbia (BOABC) is seeking Public/Lay Members.
There are up to three vacancies on the BOABC’s Executive Committee (the board). Applicants should demonstrate if they have one or more of the following attributes:
- Experience administering a register for members of a profession, including familiarity with rules, procedures or bylaws for said register, and administrative penalties related to a regulated profession.
- Experience in the building or construction industry, preferably from a related profession such as an architect, engineer or from a local government or building related NGO; and experience with administrative management such as might be gained by a Chief Financial Officer, Chief Administrative Officer, or similar.
- Experience with a high functioning board, including competencies with board governance, strategic planning, and financial management.
As per the Building Officials’ Association Act, persons who are members of the Building Officials’ Association of BC are not eligible to be appointed to the board.
