2022 Council Election and 103rd Annual Meeting Key Dates

February 2, 2022

In 2022, the council nomination and election process will be governed by the Architects Act, AIBC Bylaws (PDF), and Council Rules 4: Council Elections (PDF). The process will begin on March 1 with the opening of the Call for Nominations.

The Institute welcomes candidates from across British Columbia, as participation on council can be facilitated online for remote attendance. Architects AIBC interested in serving on AIBC Council are encouraged to contact the Council Recruitment Task Force at councilrecruitment@aibc.ca.

The 103rd Annual Meeting will be held online, on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 from 12 to 1:30 p.m. Pacific Time.

2022 Key Dates

  • March 1: Call for Council Member Nominations opens
  • March 5 & April 9: Governance Session (mandatory for all council candidates)
  • April 1: Call for Council Member Nominations closes at 4 p.m.
  • April 5-7: Candidate interviews with the Nominations Review Committee
  • April 7-16: Role Call for Motions Review Committee
  • April 12: The names of all candidates are announced
  • April 13-25: Registrant Motion submission dates
  • May 6-31: Council election e-voting period
  • May 31: AIBC 103rd Annual Meeting including announcement of election results
