The 2023 Oral Review Schedule is now available for Intern Architects AIBC and Broadly Experienced Applicant (BEA) candidates. As a reminder, the new Oral Exam process is now in place.
The AIBC will continue to deliver the Oral Exams both virtually and in-person. Those interested in taking the Oral Exam are required to submit an application form (PDF) between the specified registration period for each round. Following the application close date, AIBC staff will contact you to confirm your eligibility and assigned Oral Exam date/time.
Winter Oral Exam Dates: March 28–April 28 (Virtual)
Application Open Date: January 31
Application Close Date: February 17
Spring Oral Exam Dates: June 19–30 (In-Person)
Application Open Date: April 24
Application Close Date: May 12
Fall Oral Exam Dates: October 2–31 (Virtual)
Application Open Date: August 8
Application Close Date: August 25
New Resources, Oral Exam Preparation Workshops
The AIBC has created an Oral Exam Candidate Guidebook (PDF) to help applicants to determine whether they are eligible to take the Oral Exam, as well as how to apply, prepare, and take the exam. Candidates are encouraged to review the Guidebook thoroughly.
Complimentary Oral Exam Preparation Workshops are also offered by the AIBC before each round of Oral Exams. Attendance is highly recommended for all Intern Architects AIBC and BEA candidates, and Supervising Architects and Mentors of intern architects are also welcome. Candidates will be emailed directly with specific dates, registration details, and additional information.
