    JULY 12|
.Register by July 10 | COST: Complimentary

This advanced session is designed for digital signature subscribers that have installed the required software elements, have a digital signature activated and are looking to begin using ConsignO Desktop to view, prepare and sign electronic records. Any and all employees in the firm that might be actively involved in preparing documentation, for a digital signature to be applied, are also invited to register for this session.

The presentation will provide an overview of the origin, history and application of space syntax methodology and praxis in a day-to-day consultancy context. It will include an introduction describing key theory and principles, followed by international case studies at regional, city, development and building scales. A focus will be on evidence-based analysis and modelling of the built environment and how this can be used to support sustainability outcomes.

  • *NEW* Design Guideline Solutions: Local Prefab Mass Timber
    AUGUST 23 | Register by August 21 | COST: $60
Mass timber is part of an emerging worldwide construction shift towards offsite construction with low embodied carbon materials and is expected to be a significant share of future construction in B.C. Prefabricated buildings made from sustainably sourced timber can generate a triple win of low-carbon buildings, secure jobs in small and big towns and a sustainable forest products sector that gets more value with less fibre. In this workshop, attendees will learn about the release of Renewable Cities’ new guide, Building Capacity, that helps solve the biggest local barriers, specifically zoning bylaws, design guideline and building permitting processes. The presentation will focus on design guideline solutions that take into account the design characteristics and construction efficiencies associated with prefab mass timber materials.
Presenters: Brad Doff, Senior Program Manager, Renewable Cities, ENV SP, LEED Green Associate; Thomas Noussis, Intern Architect AIBC, Associate, ZGF Architects; Gary Penway, Principal, Gary Penway Consulting, RPP, MCIP; Helen Goodland Architect RIBA, Principal, Head of Research & Innovation, Scius Advisory Services; and  Norm Couttie Architect AIBC, President, Ecosse Development Corp.
