Career Opportunity: Certified Professional Program Manager

August 2, 2023

There is a new career opportunity with the AIBC: we are seeking a permanent, part-time Certified Professional Program Manager. This position plays an integral role within the Professional Services department, and will appeal to those who have a strong knowledge of the Certified Professional (CP) Program and an appreciation for working in the public interest.

About the Role

The CP Program (the “Program”) provides Part 3 BC Building Code and Vancouver Building Bylaw education for Architects, professional engineers, and others such as building officials and Architectural Technologists. Reporting to the Manager of Professional Services, and taking direction from the CP Supervisor, this position is responsible for the successful administration of the Program and ensuring the quality of all its components. The CP Program Manager champions the continuous improvement of the Program, facilitates the development of the annual budget and workplan for the year’s activities, evaluates Program performance, and reports on progress and issues to the CP Supervisor.

To manage the general administration of the Program, you will:

  • respond to Program-related enquiries from members of the public, AIBC, and Engineers and Geoscientists BC registrants who have the potential of becoming CPs, Certified Professionals, and participating Authorities Having Jurisdiction;
  • oversee the development and delivery of several training and educational initiatives, including the CP Course, for prospective and existing CPs;
  • coordinate and administer the onboarding of AHJs adopting the Program, ensuring they are well- informed on all Program changes; and,
  • work closely with the AIBC Professional Development Lead and other staff to run the Program and coordinate various activities, including course and exam development, faculty engagement, registrations, feedback surveys, the development of Program documents, and providing organizational support to the CP Advisory Group.

More information about the position, including candidate qualifications and how to apply, can be found on the Careers webpage.
