Certified Professional (CP) Program Update, Welcome New CP Program Manager

October 3, 2023

Since 2015, the Certified Professional (CP) Program has been jointly administered by the AIBC and Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC). As of August 2023, the Program has been transferred by EGBC to the AIBC. The Certified Professional and Advanced Code Knowledge Courses will be delivered by the AIBC in January of 2024, updated for the BC Building Code, which is expected to be implemented December of 2023. Registration is now open.

The Institute is delighted to welcome Anja Slusarzick-Seibt Architect AIBC, CP, as the new CP Program Manager of the Certified Professional Program. Anja has extensive knowledge of the industry through her 15 years in architecture, working  with the building code and  in construction administration. Those who are interested in learning more about the CP Program can contact Anja Slusarzick-Seibt Architect AIBC, CP at aslusarzickseibt@aibc.ca. A new general email has also been established for the CP Program, cp@aibc.ca. Please note this email goes directly to Anja Slusarzick-Seibt.

In addition to the 2024 CP Program Course and Advanced Code Knowledge Course, the CP team at the AIBC is working on delivery of the CP City of Vancouver Seminar for December 7, 2023, as well as the BC Building Code Upgrade Course for early 2024, which is mandatory for CPs. We also hope to welcome two new CP jurisdictions to the CP Program before the end of the year.

Anja is taking over the Certified Professional Program from Teresa Coady, former CP Program Manager, who recently retired. The AIBC would like to congratulate and thank Teresa for all her efforts and work as the Manager of the CP Program for many years. Thank you, Teresa!
