The Ministry of Housing recently announced the digital building permit and code compliance tool. As part of this project, the Ministry is conducting user research to better understand the submitter’s perspective when it comes to building permit applications.
For this research initiative, the Ministry is inviting industry professionals (architects, engineers, builders, developers, etc.) who have submitted a residential building permit application for multi-unit housing (3+ units) to at least one of the pilot jurisdictions to participate in a 90-minute online interview between Monday, October 30 and Friday, November 17, 2023.
The goal of the interview is to identify opportunities for improving the user experience of preparing and submitting a building permit application.
The Ministry has contracted a user experience researcher (Quicksilver Group) to conduct online interviews via Zoom, at a time that is convenient for the participant. No advanced preparation will be required.
