2024 Board Nominations Open February 7

January 10, 2024

In a few short weeks, the call for nominees for the 2024 AIBC Board Election will open, on Wednesday, February 7. Joining the AIBC Board is an opportunity to help shape the work of the public-interest body responsible for regulating the profession of architecture in British Columbia. This is a truly unique opportunity, particularly with the recent transition to the Professional Governance Act, to be part of the next chapter of regulation for the architectural profession in British Columbia. We encourage Architects in Good Standing to get involved with the governance of the AIBC.

If you are interested in joining the AIBC Board, consider the ideas below to learn more about being a Board Member:

  • View the frequently asked questions to learn about Board Member benefits and modest time commitment
  • Contact an existing Board member to hear first-hand experiences about being on the Board
  • Contact the CEO & Registrar to hear about what the Board may be working on in the next few years (oceo@aibc.ca)
  • Review the Board election information to learn more about the process
  • Review the Nomination Committee terms of reference to understand their important role
  • Read the 2024-2028 Strategic Plan to review the goals that the Board has set for the next five years
  • Read the AIBC Bylaws, as Board Members are ‘lawmakers’ under the Professional Governance Act

Call for Nominations Opening on February 7, 2024

A Notice will be sent on Wednesday, February 7, when the Call for Nominations officially opens. It will include all necessary and important information to submit your nomination, including 2024 key dates and the application form.
