In March 2024, in accordance with the Professional Governance Act (PGA) and AIBC Bylaws, three nominees were acclaimed for the four vacant AIBC Board positions. The Nomination Committee undertook a second nomination process for the fourth Board position, which was to be filled with a temporary appointment in accordance with the process and selection principles specified in the PGA and AIBC Bylaws.
At its June 11, 2024 meeting, the Board temporarily appointed Shamus Sachs Architect AIBC. The temporary appointment will end in June 2026 when the position will be filled via the regular Board election process.
2024–2026 AIBC Board
The AIBC Board consists of seven elected Registrant Board Members, four appointed Lay (public) Board Members, and a non-voting Immediate Past Board Chair. Registrant Board Member terms are three years, and in accordance with the Bylaws, the Board Chair and Board Vice Chair terms are two years. The Treasurer term is one year, as per Board Policy. As a reminder, given Registrant Board Member terms are three years, in 2025 (and every three years thereafter) no Board election will be held.
