Less than One Month Left Until the CES Deadline of June 30, 2024

June 5, 2024

AIBC-registered architects, architectural technologists and intern architects are reminded that the AIBC Mandatory Continuing Education System (CES) 2022–2024 reporting period deadline is less than a month away, on Sunday, June 30, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. PDT.

The requirement to comply with the CES is outlined in AIBC Bylaw 5.10. CES Participants who do not earn and report the minimum required Learning Units (LUs) will be subject to the non-compliance process outlined in AIBC Bylaws 5.14–5.24.

Indigenous Peoples Learning (NEW REQUIREMENT)

Beginning this reporting period, two Core LUs related to knowledge on Indigenous history, Truth and Reconciliation, and/or engagement (‘Indigenous Peoples Learning’) must be earned and reported each reporting period. Resources are available to assist CES Participants understand and meet this new requirement, including a Frequently Asked Questions PDF and Indigenous Peoples Learning Resources document. This requirement applies to all CES Participants, including those who choose to fulfill their requirements through the Canadian reciprocity option.

Review Your CES Transcript

To access your transcript, log into the AIBC Registrant Portal, click “Continuing Education System” from the left-hand side menu, and then select “Transcript” from the dropdown menu. CES Participants can identify if they have met their period requirements by the “completed” or “incomplete” label, which can be seen directly under the CES Period title.

Note that your CES requirements may be different depending on when you registered with the AIBC. We encourage individuals to log into their Registrant Portal to confirm their requirements, including their CES deadline.
